📄 Job Description
- Assisting Speech Language Pathologists in the execution of individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Completing daily and progress notes accurately and promptly to ensure timely compensation.
- Demonstrating unwavering reliability and professionalism in all therapeutic interactions and settings.
- Maintaining an active Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license in Texas throughout your employment.
- Being available for emergent sessions when the supervising SLP is temporarily unavailable.
- Performing all job duties strictly within the appropriate scope of responsibilities as described in the ASHA Scope of Practice for SLPA.
- Undertaking only those tasks specifically assigned by your supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
- Assisting with essential clerical duties such as preparing therapy materials and scheduling client activities, as directed by the SLP.
- Conducting routine checks and maintenance of therapy equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Supporting departmental operations including scheduling, meticulous record-keeping, and ensuring the safety and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
- Protecting all clinical and confidential information, adhering strictly to HIPAA and FERPA guidelines, and sharing information only with the supervising SLP unless legally mandated.
📌 Requirements
- Possession of an active and valid Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) License in Texas.
- A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
- A minimum of 1 year of professional experience as an SLPA is preferred.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of effective customer relationship skills, including reliability and timeliness in all professional engagements.
